On January 27th, 2015, Canada Post memorialized the life of Nelson Mandela with a beautiful stamp. The stamp features a classic portrait of Mandela, photographed by Yousuf Karsh, which is accompanied by a backdrop of South Africa’s national flag. At any given moment, a piece of mail is on its way to make an impact on someone’s life.

Canada Post’s implementation of community mailboxes has come with a gust of direct mail concerns. In addition to accessibility complications (aforementioned in our “Community Mailboxes and Accessibility” blog entry), Canadian mail recipients are also voicing safety concerns. Canada Post research indicates that Cyber Week promotions continue to boost holiday shopping and mailing in Canada. Parcel mail orders leapt to 59 percent during the Black Friday and Cyber Monday mania, according to Canada Post.
