Postal Code Targeting

On average, each Canadian postal code comprises 17 points of call. Postal Code Targeting (PCT) allows for businesses to reach look-a-like consumers that belong to the same postal codes as your current client base, with the purpose of zeroing-in on similar customer profiles.

Postal Code Targeting applies information on who shops, their frequency, and the specific departments and product categories that shoppers buy within. With access to Canada’s largest database of over 15.8 million addresses, Postal Code Targeting is a valuable tool for gaining new prospects with the same attributes as your best clientele.

This new Canada Post product can also suppress your current customers from the mailing (if preferred) and can filter for specific demographics to become even more targeted, such as:

  • Family characteristics
  • Building/dwelling type
  • Household income
  • Age of resident(s)
  • Education, and more

Postal Code Targeting also observes a variety of characteristics for direct mail acquisitions that focus on businesses. Some of these elements include industry type, company sales and employee size.

Postal Code Targeting Postage Rates

Postal Code Targeting postage rates fall in between the standard Neighbourhood Mail postage rate of 17.4 cents/piece (formerly known as Unaddressed Admail) and the standard Personalized Mail postage rate of 48.5 cents/piece (formerly known as Addressed Admail). Please call our direct mail sales team at 866-876-4624 to confirm postage costs for your campaign, and to secure any applicable discounts. All Postal Code Targeting mail items must be machinable standard-size pieces:


Minimum dimensions: 140 mm x 90 mm x 0.18 mm (thickness)
Maximum dimensions: 245 mm x 156 mm x 5 mm (thickness)
